Prepare for the New Australian Skilled Migrant Selection Model
Australian government has proposed a new selection model for skilled migrants desiring to immigrate to Australia. The new model of worker selection will be based on Expression of Interest. The candidates selected in the pool of EOI will be later invited to apply for the skilled migration program.
The DICA’s proposal is in the preliminary stage of improvement and discussion. While the basic attributes are settled but additional changes are probable and the subsequent must not be foreseen as an ultimate narrative of the operation of the new model of selection. The Immigration Minister will present the recommendations to the Governor Council for proposed changes to come out with the final selection model.
The Selection model will work on an electronic system functioning as dual-stage process. Aspiring visa candidates have to submit an online Expression of Interest and later on prospective candidates will be offered to make a visa application for skilled immigration. It must be noted that invitation to EOI is not your visa approval; it is just a pool of selective candidates according to their claims in EOI.
This is an important change from the existing immigration system. A candidate for state or territory sponsored as well as independent immigration will be obligatory to obtain an invitation to lodge final visa application. Once invited, the selection model will make sure a balance between the applicants’ number and the available program quota. This will improve the processing time of applications.
