Canada Provincial Nominee Programs for General Skilled Worker
Canada Provincial Nominee Programs have been designed to enable various states and territories of the country in plugging gaps in structural expertise and skills in local labor pools of states concerned. These programs are planned, controlled and managed by the governments of states and territories- in close coordination with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) – except Quebec which has its own independent PNP system. The states currently operating their independent PNPs are as follows:
- British Columbia
- New Brunswick
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Nova Scotia
- Prince Edward Island
Immigrating through a Canadian PNP is,all the more, beneficial and surely a faster way of moving to Canada as a permanent resident; as the CIC processes applications attached with nominations on priority. Moreover, many PNPs have also been linked to Express Entry.
Quebec is also all set to open its general skilled worker program – that does not need applicants to procure a job offer from a Quebec based employer. It is expected that government of Quebec would accept 6300 applications from immigrants attaining minimum qualifying scores.
