The Australia visa requirements for applying for subclass 491 visa are:

  • The applicant must be under 45 years of age
  • They must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in their field of interest
  • Have had a valid and positive skills assessment conducted by a designated regional authority
  • Must have proficiency in English language
  • Be able to meet the health (by passing a medical exam or getting a thorough check up done) and character (morally fit disposition) requirements.

Once you hold this newly launched visa you can not live and work in a regional area of Australia for up to 5 years as well as include family members while filling out the application. Also, with this visa, you can pursue your studies in Australia, and since it is a temporary residency visa you can even transition this to a permanent residency visa, if and when you are eligible for the same. After 3 years, it will be the perfect time to transition for permanent residency, since these visas have priority processing attached to them.
